In 1950, Granddad was elected Exalted Ruler of the Greencastle Elks Lodge and traveled by train that same year to the Elks National Convention in Miami, FL. At the convention, Joseph P. Kyle from Whiting, Indiana, was elected to the highest Elks' office, Grand Exalted Ruler.
Below are scanned images of postcards he sent to Gram and my mom and aunt. Granddad was in Miami at least a week and spent a couple of days on a side trip to Havana, Cuba. (I have postcards from there -need to find them.)
